"Play"ing around...
Still trying to figure out a way to get decent-sized subject lines in this new LJ Layer.  I may yet try a different one, but if so, that'll have to wait until next week when I get my some small semblence of free time again.

Yeah, listen to the techie gripe.  I sign up to run sound on my first show in over three years (I *DESIGN* sound for lots of shows, but that's not the same), and I barely show up five times so far (retreat, tech day, and three rehearsals), and I'm already moaning about my free time.

This is why I'm not an actor.  (Oh, they've wrangled me into two tiny roles in the past 12 years, but never again.)  Actors have to live and breathe theater for THREE MONTHS NONSTOP.  As a techie, I toss some sounds on a CD, swoop in at the end, do a week-and-a-half of rehearsals and the live performances, and I'm DONE.  And I'm STILL missing my free time...

I've always been very jealous of my free time.  (Is that the word I'm looking for?)  I need LOTS of personal, "me" time.  (I'm still not a grown-up.  I want to work from 9 to 2:30 and then come home and play video games and watch TV for the rest of the day.)

So this sleep-six-hours, race-to-work, race-to-theater, do-chores-at-home-then-collapse routine just doesn't cut it.

It's not that I don't enjoy DOING the theater stuff.  It's just not the same as "down time"...

Anyway, if you're anywhere in the area, come see Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde.  It's fun, and educational!  What more can you ask...?

Oh.  Right.  Free time.  Ah well, soon enough...
