Election Night 2006 - Unbeliever's Land
...The continuing chronicles...
Election Night 2006
Well, it's been a long day, and even though we are political junkies who've been glued to the TV all night, we are EXHAUSTED -- and at this point, it doesn't look like much is going to change anytime soon.  I'm thinking it's time for bed.

So far, what we know is...

The only question is, by how much of a margin.

As for the Senate, it's down to three seats:
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Virginia
The Dems need ALL THREE to take over the Senate -- and it's quite possible!

They're barely ahead in Virginia and Montana, and while the Repubs are ahead in Missouri, the remaining districts to be counted ARE majority Democrat.

The news is already great.  Here's crossing our fingers for even better news come morning...

UPDATE 1: Haven't made it to bed yet, and the Dems are now ahead in Missouri as well!!!  Jesus Christ, how am I going to manage to sleep NOW...?

UPDATE 2: CNN's just called Missouri for the Dems!  And in Montana, the Dems are ahead by 4%.  It's looking like it's all going to be up to Virginia... and apparantly that race may take days (or several weeks, if the Repub requests a recount, which appears likely).  I don't think my heart can take it...
