Me, Angela, me, lunch, and me - Unbeliever's Land — LiveJournal
...The continuing chronicles...
Me, Angela, me, lunch, and me
So yesterday, I woke up having one of my "episodes".  Feels like a panic attack.  Chest tight and heart racing.  Can't think straight.  Then, while on the toilet, it turned into massive cold sweats and intense nausea.  (This second phase is less common, but has also happened before.)  After half an hour, the worst of it goes, but I still feel like crap for awhile afterwards.

I got Angela to her scheduled specialist appointment -- good news on her liver; the two-hundred-pound water weight loss has eased the pressure on her heart, which has made her liver numbers look WAY better.  So we're in the clear on that last issue from her stay in the hospital.

After her appointment, we jointly decided that I needed to see the doc about my "episodes".  Our doc was available (though late in the day), so I wound up missing the whole day of work.  In between, we spent half an hour at a furniture store browsing new couches (since I am FINALLY back in the bedroom and not sleeping on the couch anymore), and we went out to eat.

We went to Shari's -- nice "home-style" food, great pies.  And we had a lovely meal.  Small talk, nice atmosphere.  (Great having Angela up and around!)  And then...the bill came.  And the waitress told us that another patron had seen us, and we had "reminded him of people he used to know" -- and before leaving, he had paid for our dinner as well.  Cue Twilight Zone music.

We left a nice tip, but now we're stuck wondering who our mysterious benefactor was.  Weird.  :)

As for my "episodes", the doctor thinks they might actually be panic attacks -- or possibly some acid reflux that I'm unaware of.  I'm scheduled tomorrow morning for an "Upper G.I." to test that latter possibility.

And that's how my Monday went.  :)

Yikes about the episodes, which sound terrifying! I'm amazed that you haven't been scawed enough to see a doctor about them before-- I really, really don't go to the doctor, and I think I would for those. But thank heavens it doesn't look, well, more cardiac.

Great to read that Angela's still doing well!

And so fraky about the meal ticket!

Glad Angela's doing better.

As for your problems: don't panic :>

Hope that turns out to be treatable news...
