Fedex hates me - Unbeliever's Land
...The continuing chronicles...
Fedex hates me
Clearly, Fedex hates me -- because otherwise, you'd have to take them at their word that they momentarily confused Seattle with Corvallis, and that's why our new Droid Incredible phones (due Friday) didn't arrive til Monday.

And without even an update on their website to inform us of the change of dates... :(

But in any case, we have them now, and are just starting to figure them (and configure them)....

So far... We Are Very Pleased.

New... toys... :)

Current Emotional State: amused amused

My current phone is the AT&T Tilt (see icon), and since it's running out on it's contract period (and has some odd limitations) I'm musing about a new phone soonish. Candidates include the Incredible and the new iPhone 4. I'd be interested to hear how you guys like your new phones, and if you had any feelings about the Incredible vs. iPhone 4 vs. Anything Else.

Have fun, fun, fun with your new phones!!!

Well, iPhone isn't available for Verizon (and won't be until at least 2012, from what I read), so it wasn't really in the running for us. We might have seriously considered it otherwise. (I don't even know what "iPhone 4" does better -- until it speaks Verizon, the point is moot...)

Plus, we like the "everything synchs with Google automagically in the cloud" thing that comes with Android-OS phones.

I've also got it synching with Outlook for Calendar and Contacts (a must for work) -- in ADDITION to the magic Google-synch. So that works.

As for cell tech available to buy TODAY, the Droid Incredible is the Toy To Beat. It multitasks! It speaks Flash (which Apple REFUSES to do on principle). It's app store isn't as big as Apple's yet, but it's plenty big (and how many millions of minor tweaks to the SAME APP do you need to have available to choose between anyway?).

It has an 8-megapixel camera. It has GPS/compass/accelerometer, which combine to form Devastator, the most powerful robot... I mean, combine to let you run cool apps like Google Sky Map, which lets you hold the phone up to the sky in any direction and angle, and tells you what stars/planets/constellations are RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU as you move around. Wicked cool...

You can also play little tilt-the-phone-to-roll-the-marble-around-a-maze-while-avoiding-holes games. So there's that. :)

There's ALOT to learn before you get marginally competent with it... but I imagine that's true for ANYONE upgrading from 4-year-old phone and PDA technology, to top-o-the-line 2010 all-in-one tech.

Join us... join us... all hail our Google Corporate Overlords...
